I thought it would be interesting to do a series of paintings of the apple orchard near where we live. I started in the Spring of 2019 and have gotten to May 2019 so far. I plan to make more paintings of the orchard right on into October when all the leaves have fallen off the trees.

We would like to see some of these wood ducks on our pond, so back in March I made three nesting boxes with just the right size and shape hole that a wood duck could fit through. We are still waiting for them to take up residence.

The headland is Rimataka National Park. On the other side of the headland is Wellington Harbor and the capital of New Zealand.
It is about 10 miles across the bay.
It was impossible to paint the very small white dots that would be sheep in the pasture in the intermediate foreground, so I didn’t. You just have to imagine them.
There were no sailboats to paint, and no beach houses along the shore.
